Jack’s Oyster House Celebrates Grand Re-Opening with Ribbon Cutting

The Capital Region Chamber proudly joined community leaders, elected officials, and business supporters on April 2 to celebrate the grand re-opening of Jack’s Oyster House with a ribbon cutting at its historic home at 44 State Street in Albany. 

An Albany institution since 1913, Jack’s Oyster Househas long been regarded as one of the region’s most iconic dining destinations and among the oldest restaurants in New York State—now reopening its doors to begin an exciting new era.

Under the ownership of Neovista Equities, Jack’s is honoring its deep-rooted traditions while thoughtfully enhancing the dining experience for today’s guests.

The ceremony was emceed by Georgette Steffens, Executive Director of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District, and featured remarks from Patrick Toomey, Director of Business Development for Jack’s Oyster House, who shared the vision for the restaurant’s revival and Neovista’s continued investment in Albany. 

Remarks were also delivered by New York State Assemblymember Gabriella Romero, Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy, and Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs, each highlighting Jack’s significance to Albany’s economy, culture, and downtown revitalization efforts. 

Following the official ribbon cutting and photo opportunity, attendees enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to reconnect inside one of the Capital Region’s most storied dining establishments—now refreshed and ready to welcome longtime patrons and new visitors alike. 

The Chamber extends its congratulations to the entire Jack’s Oyster House team and looks forward to continued success in this exciting new era.
