Investment-Ready Small Businesses Invited to Learn “Steps to SBIC Financing”

At Steps to SBIC Financing, scheduled for October 29th, small business owners will discuss capital raising opportunities face-to-face with representatives from two of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Small Business Investment Companies (SBIC).

Held at the New York BizLab business accelerator, Pine Street Capital, based in Albany, and Primary Ventures, based in New York City with a presence in the Capital Region, will provide an overview of the small businesses that are eligible for the SBIC program and specifically suited for their investment funds. Business advisors from SBA, the Albany Small Business Development Center, Northeast NY SCORE Chapter, and the Women’s Business Center of New York State will be on hand at the event to discuss free counseling and low-cost training opportunities that are available locally.

“SBA’s SBIC program makes it possible to get capital into the hands of high-growth small businesses more quickly. When an SBIC invests in a small business, it can scale up, create more jobs and positively impact our community,” said Bernard J. Paprocki, SBA Syracuse District director.

Investment-ready businesses are encouraged to register for this free event by October 27th online at http://stepstosbicfinancing.eventbrite.com. The event is scheduled from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the New York BizLab, located at 251 State St. in Schenectady. Transfinder Corporation and the New York BizLab are hosting the event. Free parking is available in the back off Liberty St.
