August 14, 2015Integra Optics and IntegraLED Host Ribbon
Integra Optics and IntegraLED cut the ribbon on their new office and public venue space at their facility on the grounds of the Albany International Airport. In June, both companies expanded into a second renovated airplane hangar. The opening marks an exciting milestone for these two companies as they continue to expand across the United States and internationally.
Integra Optics is a veteran-owned business, certified by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, and led by an executive team with vast experience in the cable and telecommunications industries. The company greatly supports the hiring of both veterans and active reserve members. Integra Optics is also the Capital Region’s home for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots, run by one of its veteran employees.
IntegraLED specializes in the design and installation of low-cost LED lighting systems. Their LED lights illuminate the hangar and offices. LED lightbulbs use 90 percent less electricity than standard bulbs, and last 40 times longer than your standard incandescent bulb.
“This is an incredible company that’s harnessing 21st century technology to benefit our community and the entire region,” said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, who represents the 111th Assembly District. “Additionally, this is a company that cares about the community, creating new jobs and emphasizing the hiring of veterans.”
Integra executives last night welcomed local and state elected officials and area business leaders to an open house celebration to unveil the hangar’s public event space. A few lucky guests won the chance to take a flight in the company-owned Pilatus PC-12 aircraft – also available for charter.
The inspiration for the facility’s design came from Integra Optics Founder and CEO, Dave Prescott. An active pilot and airplane collector, Prescott wanted to incorporate an aviation theme into the new office. Prescott worked with interior designer Diane Meyer to bring the ideas to life.
While the design does incorporate bits and pieces of mid-twentieth century aviation, the overall look and feel of the space is progressive and innovative – reflecting Integra Optics and IntegraLED’s mission of offering quality, responsive products and service to their clients.
“This incredible space captures Integra’s vision and points to their future success,” said Thomas O’Conner, director, Government Relations, Capital Region Chamber. “From hiring our veterans to headquartering Toys for Tots and supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, this company has shown time and time again what it means to be a great corporate citizen.”
