Hudson Valley Credit Union Names New President/CEO

HVCU Chair of the Board Nancy Kappler-Foster announced that Mr. Jonathan W. Roberts has been named President and Chief Executive Officer for the financial cooperative beginning September 19, 2022. Mr. Roberts most recently served as Executive Vice President at Webster Bank in Stamford, Connecticut, where he was head of their Community Banking division and served as a member of the Executive Committee. He has extensive consumer and commercial financial experience over the past 28 years with a number of well-respected institutions, including First Bank in St. Louis and Santander Bank in Philadelphia.

Mr. Roberts succeeds Mary Madden, who will retire in early September. “After extensive conversations with Jonathan, I am confident the transition will be smooth and seamless,” said Ms. Kappler-Foster. “His financial acumen, strategic vision, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community are the perfect mix to help our credit union achieve even greater success.”

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Mr. Roberts holds several certifications from The Wharton School of Business, General Management Program including topics such as strategy, innovation, digital marketing, and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, he served as Chairman of the Board for the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
