Heart Transplant Recipient, Donor’s Father Share Their Story at The Go Red for Women Luncheon

Anna King had a heart transplant at the age of 14. Her heart came from Klarissa Russell, who, at the age of 20, died in a car crash. Klarissa’s father, Steve Russell, made the decision after his daughter’s death to donate her organs.

On Thursday, May 25, Anna, now 17 and a high school junior in Mayfield, and Steve, from Amarillo, Texas,  will both be at the Go Red for Women Luncheon at the Albany Marriott, 189 Wolf Road, Albany.

The Go Red for Women Luncheon, which raises awareness that heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death among women in America. The Go Red for Women Luncheon also raises money to fund research to help save lives. The Luncheon includes a silent auction featuring the popular Purse-Onalities donated by local women; health screenings; a heart-healthy lunch and inspiring program.
