The Chamber celebrated the opening of Hatchet Hardware of Niskayuna on Friday, May 21st. The Chamber was assisted by the attendance of local and state elected officials and Chamber Ambassadors.
The process of renovating the store and opening it at the start of the year did not come without its set of challenges. The winter weather and making sure the proper safety precautions were taken held up the store’s renovations. “When we opened the doors in January, we weren’t sure what to expect, but this community has been so supportive and welcoming. Our customers noticed that the shop renovations weren’t complete as they were pushed back due to weather and safety precautions. We still have more plans for the store, but we are grateful to be a part of a community that is as excited to see what’s next as we are,” Erika added. The trio hoped to have their greenhouse ready for the event but are excited to announce it will be ready by the Fall season.
Hatchet Hardware is a family-owned and operated Ace Hardware dealer with five brick-and-mortar stores located in upstate New York. Each shop has its unique flair and includes a specially curated home goods section that houses gifts, candles, apparel, and more. The family hopes to begin work on their sixth store, located in Wynantskill, NY, in the coming months.
