Greenlight Networks Recognized by Industry Association for ‘Taking Fiber Further’

Greenlight Networks (“Greenlight”), the leading fiber-to-the-home provider in New York State, today announced that the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) has recognized the company with its “Taking Fiber Further” award, a coveted category of the organization’s brand-new Fiber Forward AMPLIFY awards program. FBA awarded Greenlight during its annual luncheon held on Monday, July 29 in Nashville during Fiber Connect 2024.

The ‘Taking Fiber Further’ award recognizes teams working together to support community broadband fiber network expansion, including construction, planning, and integration.

“We are truly honored to be named one of the first recipients of the FBA’s new AMPLIFY Awards. The ‘Taking Fiber Further’ category in particular is especially rewarding knowing that Greenlight is not only being recognized for its rapid network expansion, but for its dedication to community engagement, advocacy and industry collaboration,” said Mark Murphy, CEO, Greenlight Networks. “Together, as an industry, we are creating a better internet for consumers and businesses alike. This award further energizes our team’s excitement for growth and we look forward to reaching more communities with high-speed fiber.”

The FBA organized its awards luncheon to recognize the best and brightest in the fiber industry, honoring recipients of both the traditional FBA Awards, as well as the new Fiber Forward AMPLIFY winners, a nomination-based awards program open to all FBA members. Award finalists were selected for each award category by FBA’s Conference Committee and winners ultimately, selected by fiber broadband experts from across the industry.

Through investment and strategic partnerships, Greenlight has successfully expanded its state-of-the-art fiber network into five major regions within New York State including Albany, Buffalo, Binghamton, Hudson Valley, and Rochester. The company is considered the fastest growing provider in the state and is committed to prioritizing underserved areas in order to create more opportunities for education, economic growth and digital inclusion.

With each build out, Greenlight contributes to local jobs, contracts local construction teams for support and forges strong partnerships with local community organizations and groups to host network equipment and its pop-up education events.

Greenlight’s sought-after fiber network is now accessible to more than 175,000 homes and 10,000 small businesses within 27 municipalities – and continued growth is on the horizon. To learn more, visit: GreenlightNetworks.com.
