June 9, 2017Grand Opening for Newest, Affordable Housing Project in Capital Region
Colonie Senior Service Centers, Inc. will celebrate the Grand Opening of the King Thiel Senior Community on June 20. King Thiel Senior Community is the area’s newest affordable living community for independent seniors 55+. Tours of the clubhouse and apartments will be available. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony, which begins at 11 a.m. The Senior Community is located at 17 Elks Lane, Latham, NY (off of Route 155 adjacent to the Elks Lodge).
The Town of Colonie Comprehensive Plan continues to note the great need for affordable, independent, senior housing in Colonie. CSSC responded to these concerns and after years of planning, all necessary approvals were completed and the King Thiel Senior Community became a reality. It is now home to 96 senior families.
