Golf Tournament to Benefit Epilepsy Foundation

The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York’s annual Jake Straughter Memorial Golf Tournament for Epilepsy will be held on Monday, September 28 at two of the area’s most beautiful and challenging courses, Wolferts Roost Country Club and Shaker Ridge Country Club.  Registration opens at 10 a.m., lunch at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 12 noon, ending with an Awards Reception at 6 p.m. at Wolferts Roost Country Club.

The Foundation is excited to announce two great golfers will be joining them again this year. Jeff Klauk, professional golfer on the PGA and Web.com tours, will be at Wolferts Roost Country Club. Epilepsy interrupted Mr. Klauk’s PGA career in 2012, and after brain surgery and several procedures, he enjoys life with his family with a positive attitude and is working hard to regain his status on the PGA tour.  Mr. Klauk will be providing a clinic and will be speaking at the awards reception. Joining the Foundation at Shaker Ridge is the 2012 RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion, Eric Lastowka. He will be providing an exciting clinic and will also be attending the awards dinner.

The Awards Reception will include a live auction featuring a Masters flag autographed by 2015  Masters Champion, US Open Champion and No. 1 ranked golfer in the world Jordan Spieth.  The Foundation gives special thanks to their returning Event Sponsor, Turf Hotels, and other top sponsors including  BBL Hospitality,  Bette & Cring Construction Group, Center for Disability Services, Gilbane Construction, Norvest Financial Services, SYSCO, Sunshine Pools, UCB, WNYT NewsChannel 13,  TALK 1300 and WVCR 88.3 The Saint.
