Eligible individuals will receive funding through a New York State Department of Labor grant. Courses to be offered include Python for Data Analytics taught by SaratogaCanCode instructors, Sterile Processing taught by Saratoga Hospital instructors, and a new Electrical Maintenance Bootcamp.
• The Python for Data Analytics course is a 12-week computer coding program offered virtually through SaratogaCanCode. No programming experience is necessary, although those with experience interested in learning new languages and applications are welcome. The class meets virtually two evenings a week in three-hour sessions. Classes begin Sept. 26.
• The Sterile Processing Technician course is a 12-week program offered in partnership with Condensed Curriculum International (CCI). This class prepares qualified students to sit for the Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) exam. Classes begin Sept. 13.
• The Electrical Maintenance Technician Bootcamp is a 12-week course during which students will learn entry-level skills to begin their career as an electrical technician in a variety of modern manufacturing environments. There will be recruitment opportunities with local employers. Classes begin Sept. 27.
The SUNY Reimagine Workforce Preparation Training Program is fully funded by the United States Department of Education as part of an award totaling $18,067,845.02, with 0 percent financed from state and/or non-governmental sources.
