The Chamber took part in a ribbon cutting for Floor Coverings International on Wednesday, May 19th.
Roman Empire Flooring has launched Floor Coverings International Capital Region in upstate New York! Co-founders Vinny and Johanna Roman have opened this new business, ready to hit the market in order to provide excellent, dependable and quality home services to our region!
Finding it extremely difficult to find responsive, quality work from the home services market in the Capital Region, Vinny and Johanna have set their course on changing that negative experience! Floor Coverings International is unique in that we are a One-Stop shop for our clients. We have ‘Mobile Showrooms’, we do not have traditional ‘brick and mortar’ stores for our clients to shop in. Instead, with our Mobile Showrooms, we bring the showroom right to their steps!
Our Mobile Showrooms house over 3,000+ floor samples, everything from Carpet, Traditional Hardwood, engineered Hardwood, Vinyl planks, sheet vinyl and more! We provide free, in-home consultations where we come to the customer with all that they will need to get their new flooring project complete. We provide the flooring, install and more! We like to label ourselves as our clients “project managers” and aid with finding the right local representative to get every aspect of their home project completed.
Vinny, or as most call him, “Gunny Roman”, has served both our local community as well as our country, as he is now a retired Gunnery Sargent from the United States Marine Corps. Vinny served graciously throughout his time with Corps, finding his last duty station in Glenville, NY. While still serving, he took on the role of Coordinator for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program back in 2009. Since then, and even after his retirement form the Corps, Vinny has been responsible for overseeing the program. Vinny and his team continue to strive to help children in the Capital Region who are in-need, with a Christmas morning. In 2020, even with all the hurdles COVID-19 placed in front of him and his team, the Capital Region Toys for Tots program managed to provide a Christmas to over 206,000 children!
Johanna, aside from playing ‘Ms. Clause’ annually for Toys for Tots, spent most of her corporate career in banking, finally stepping down as Assistant Vice President of a local bank in order to pursue entrepreneurial ventures. In 2019, they opened Roman Empire Logistics, a DSP (Delivery Service Partner) for Amazon and have successfully created a dedicated team that run the day-to-day aspects. With that team in place and running it, Johanna and Vinny decided to return to the Capital Region in order to dominate the flooring world!
With our new ‘normal’ after dealing with this Pandemic, Vinny and Johanna are looking to provide quality, reputable and honest servicing for our upstate community. We want to set the bar of what working with professionals in the home services field should be. Fully transparency, great customer service, honest pricing and an overall satisfying experience is what Floor Coverings International Capital Region is out to provide!
