October 15, 2015Flavor of Schenectady Begins Making Appearances Across the Capital Region Showcasing Delicious and Diverse Cuisine
Flavor of Schenectady, a coalition of locally owned food and beverage manufacturers based in Schenectady, NY, is making appearances across the Capital Region showcasing delicious cuisine and sharing stories of their companies, many of which have been in existence for generations.
The group, which was announced a few weeks ago, has several upcoming events planned. A recent event included the Taste of Home Cooking School Show and Expo that took place at the Saratoga City Center on Thursday, October 15, 2015. The expo featured a professional culinary specialist demonstrating recipes, cooking methods, practical kitchen tips, and plating techniques in an entertaining and educational environment. The presenter showed step-by-step dishes using seasonal ingredients that are available at the local grocery store. Flavor of Schenectady was featured at the vendor exhibition.
To date the coalition includes: Casa Visco, Garofalo & Co., Gatherer’s Gourmet Granola, Mastroianni Brothers Bakery, Pede Bros. Inc, and Villa Italia. The leaders are excited to expand the culinary team to include additional manufacturers local to the Schenectady region.
Warren Zieser, CEO of Mastroianni Brothers Bakery, who developed the idea to form the coalition, is enthusiastic about the many upcoming events. He said, “We look forward to breaking some bread and sharing the delicious flavors of fine sauce, pasta and sweets with the community. This is a very talented group of manufacturers who are truly dedicated to our region.
