Fifteen Awarded Hoffman Scholarship

Fifteen Hoffman Car Wash and Hoffman Jiffy Lube employees were selected as recipients of the 2018 Hoffman Scholarship Award. Currently in its second year, the Hoffman Scholarship Program was created to help incentivize employees to further their education. The winners, who each receive a $1,000 scholarship, were recognized at an awards reception earlier in June.

Of the 15 winners, 12 are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree, while the remaining three completed their senior year of high school in June. In order to qualify for the award, employees must have worked for the company for at least six months and hold a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Below is a list of this year’s recipients:

  • Tyler Brundige (Latham Car Wash) – A Business Administration major at University at Albany, Tyler holds a 3.32 grade point average. He’s also a member of the Pittstown Volunteer Fire Department and the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corps.
  • Jake Day (Latham Car Wash) – Jake is an Accounting major at Siena College with a 3.93 grade point average.
  • Chad Foster (Albany Car Wash) – Chad is majoring in Social Work at the College of Saint Rose and holds a 3.55 grade point average.
  • Aaron Hinman (Northline Car Wash) – Aaron attends SUNY Adirondack for Criminal Justice and holds a 3.8 grade point average. He plans on pursuing a career as a New York State Trooper.
  • Eugene Kupiec (Albany-Shaker Car Wash) – Eugene attends Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and is studying to become a Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Joshua Lindsay (Latham Car Wash) – Joshua is a Computer Engineering major at University at Albany with a 3.64 grade point average.
  • Catelyn Linendoll (Saratoga Jiffy Lube) – Catelynn completed her associate’s degree at SUNY Adirondack and will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh for Business Administration.
  • Mikayla Luskin (Colonie Car Wash) – Mikayla completed her senior year at Colonie Central High School and will be majoring in Biology at Chowan University in the fall.
  • Shaun May (Clifton Park Car Wash) – Shaun, who received the award for the second consecutive year, is an Accounting major at University at Albany with a 3.74 grade point average.
  • James Monfils (Albany-Shaker Car Wash) – James, who is a two-time Hoffman Scholarship Award recipient, is an Environmental Studies major at Siena College. He is also a member of the National Society of Leadership & Success.
  • Kayla Mulvaney (Latham Car Wash) – Kayla will be attending Russell Sage College for Childhood Education in the fall after completing her senior year at Mohonasen. She also works part time at a local daycare, which inspired her to pursue her major.
  • Cotter Nash (Clifton Park Car Wash) – Cotter attends Hudson Valley Community College and is pursuing a degree in Construction and Maintenance.
  • Alex Peraza (Latham Car Wash) – A Criminal Justice major at Hudson Valley Community College, Alex plans to become a New York State Trooper.
  • Alexander Remy (Central Car Wash) – Alexander studies Computer Science at Hudson Valley Community College with a concentration in Cybersecurity. He also volunteers at the Northeastern Regional Food Bank.
  • Aiden Strain (Clifton Park Car Wash) – Aiden will be majoring in Finance at Bentley University in the fall after completing his senior year at Shenendehowa.
