F.W. Webb Grand Opening in Schenectady

F.W. Webb (fwwebb.com) expanded into Schenectady with a Grand Opening for their new showroom on Broadway just off I-890.  This is another family of stores that entered the Capital Region with a store in Albany, adding a big one at 1 McCrea Hill Rd in Ballston Spa a few years ago, and now this latest one in Schenectady.  Adding to the regional impact, the Schenectady location boasts their first-ever regional Training Center, which will help the company instruct new hires for stores from Pennsylvania to New England, and support area college technical programs.

Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy showed support with a special proclamation naming today “F.W. Webb Day” in the City. The Mayor was joined by City Councilwoman Carmel Patrick. Metroplex Development Authority Chairman Ray Gillen also addressed those gathered, as did Senator Jim Tedisco, Mia Comenzo representing Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, and Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation Interim Executive Director Carney McGuire. It was also a fun reunion as leaders of all three local F.W. Webb operations were present – The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County had cut the ribbon with Mike Bifano and his team in the Town of Ballston about 8 years ago. He and Steve Knapp, Operations Manager in Albany were there supporting their colleague, Alex Govoni for this happy occasion. Ray mentioned that they are opening a business each week now in Schenectady as the City continues to revitalize and grow. That’s at least 52 a year, and that means a lot of faucets, plumbing fixtures and HVAC systems to install and fix! And that’s just one municipality in the region.

All 2023 ribbon cuttings of the Capital Region Chamber and its affiliates are sponsored by the Saratoga National Bank & Trust Company.
