April 23, 2025Equal Vision Records Celebrates Relocation & Expansion with Formal Ribbon Cutting
Equal Vision Records, the renowned independent record label and parent company of MerchNow, EVR Promotions and Burlington Record Pressing celebrates the grand opening of its new headquarters in downtown Albany.
The move consolidates Equal Vision’s operations in a modern, state-of-the-art facility that enhances production capabilities, streamlines services, and strengthens support for artists and fans across the globe. With a growing workforce and increasing national demand for custom merchandise and vinyl records, the new space positions Equal Vision and its subsidiaries—including EVR Promotions, MerchNow and Burlington Record Pressing—for long-term success while contributing to downtown Albany’s economic revival.
Equal Vision Records has deep roots in the Capital Region. What began in the early 1990s as a DIY print shop run out of Reddy’s home has grown into a powerhouse in music merchandise and vinyl distribution. From humble beginnings—manually printing band t-shirts for friends in the punk and hardcore scenes—the company expanded into e-commerce with the launch of MerchNow in the early 2000s, eventually occupying more than 60,000 square feet of warehouse space on Fuller Rd. in Albany, where it flourished for the next two decades.
In 2023, responding to a surge in vinyl demand, Reddy acquired the assets of the Burlington Record Plant and established Burlington Record Pressing, relocating its operations and workforce to Albany, precipitating the move to the newest headquarters on South Pearl Street.
“This is more than just a new building—it’s a new chapter for Equal Vision and a vote of confidence in Albany,” said Steve Reddy, founder of Equal Vision Records. “We’re proud to grow in a way that creates jobs, supports our artists, and brings new energy to the heart of the city.”
“Equal Vision Records’ decision to grow in downtown Albany reflects the kind of forward-thinking entrepreneurship that drives our regional economy,” said Mark Eagan, President and CEO of the Capital Region Chamber and the Center for Economic Growth. “This expansion not only brings new jobs and investment to the heart of our city, but also reinforces the Capital Region’s reputation as a hub for creativity, innovation, and business success. We’re proud to support Equal Visions as they continue to make a national impact from right here in Albany.”
