Emily Lang joins New York State Economic Development Council

Emily Lang has joined the New York State Economic Development Council (NYSEDC) as manager of marketing and communications. She is responsible for developing a marketing plan for the organization; raising brand awareness; overseeing and managing the NYSEDC website; and managing the organization’s marketing, communications, and social media efforts.

In the past two years, NYSEDC has grown its membership to more than 900 members and increased event attendance by more than 30 percent. This newly created position supports NYEDC’s strategic plan to enhance its digital presence, grow membership, and expand programming and professional development. NYSEDC Executive Director Ryan Silva said, “We are thrilled to have Emily Lang join our team. Her expertise and experience align with our goals of advocating, serving, and creating more value for our members and the economic development community.”

Prior to joining NYSEDC, Lang was director of sales and marketing at Riverside Maple Farms in Glenville. She also served as digital marketing manager at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady and digital content editor for the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, Mass.

A graduate of Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in history and minors in women’s studies and Jewish studies, Lang also earned a master’s degree in history museum studies from The Cooperstown Graduate Program. Lang resides in Albany.
