November 1, 2017Doane Stuart Lower School To Celebrate Veterans Day with Local Veterans
On Friday, November 3 at 8:20 AM, Doane Stuart Lower School students will welcome veterans from The Gerald O’Neil Post #1683, The Melvin Roads Post #1231, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7338, and Sheehy-Palmer VFW Post #6776.
Students will parade in with instruments and flags, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Students from each grade will share messages of thanks, and then they will present veterans with handmade cards thanking them for their service.
Everyone will then gather outside to place a wreath by the veterans monument at the front of the school and sing “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee.” Mayor Dan Dwyer will be in attendance.
