June 18, 2018D&L Hospitality Holds Grand Opening in Cohoes
The Chamber was elated to welcome D&L Hospitality to Remsen Street in Cohoes on Friday the 15th.
After opening various big named hospitality locations, such as Rivers Casino, and learning from the some of the best in the local industry, Chef Giovanni Lontoc and Event Planner Melanie Diaz have decided the time has come to follow their dream. Thus, the formation of D&L Hospitality Management, LLC.
The duo met during their time in the Culinary and Hospitality Program at SUNY SCCC and started their adventure working for Mazzone Hospitality. Graduating with high honors and as members of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, they continuously stuck together on various projects such as, Collard Greens dinner and dialogue nights for Collar Works Art Gallery in Troy, NY. And have long awaited the day where their passion finally comes to life under their name.
Their passion is driven by the love and support from their families and friends. And from the constant referrals and compliments of big name clients such as the Albany Empire Football team, and Editor of Vogue/ Teen Vogue Magazine Alyssa Hardy.
This past Thanksgiving, Melanie suffered a horrible accident that left scars from 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her legs. It was during that time that she felt it was now or never for her and Giovanni to take the next step in their business ventures and go on their own. They immediately started looking for the right location and struck gold when they found Cohoes. Currently known as the fastest growing city in New York State, they felt this was the perfect time to call it home for their new business.

The new location will serve as a head quarters for the company, which will offer Catering, Event and Wedding Planning, and Restaurant Consulting. With an open concept commercial kitchen, they hope to offer various cooking classes, fine dining dinner nights, and the perfect atmosphere for private gatherings and events. Offsite catering and event planning will be offered to the Capital Region and Hudson area. With a long list of vendors and their own 1500sqft wedding barn, located in Feura Bush, they consider themselves a one stop shop for all perspective clients’ event needs. From a small gathering of 10 to a large convention of 1,500, D&L Hospitality Management is ready to provide the best.
