An exhibition by alumni of Hudson Valley Community College’s Digital Media program is on view through Friday, Oct. 6 in the Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Atrium in the Marvin Library Learning Commons on the Troy campus.

The exhibition features art work by 16 Digital Media program graduates ranging from sculpture, animation and video to photography, collage and digital imaging. A reception with the artists is Thursday Sept. 14 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and is open free to the public.

The two‐year Digital Media A.S. degree exposes students to a wide range of both traditional and digital art. Students study drawing, two‐dimensional design, photography, digital imaging, animation, video, interactive media, web and graphic design.

The current exhibition was curated by Jared Schafer, a Digital Media alumnus, and organized by Kyra Garrigue, an instructor in the program.
Schafer, a North Carolina native, moved to upstate New York to pursue a bartending career. After about a decade in the hospitality industry, he decided to seek a degree in Digital Media from Hudson Valley and continued his education at Sage College of Albany.

He now is the director of Motion Graphics at Upside Collective in Albany and has taught courses in Digital Animation and Time Arts at Sage College of Albany.
