Bill Davies, president of Davies Office, presented at the 2015 World Remanufacturing Summit in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Davies’ presentation, “Remanufacturing of Office Furniture – Innovations in Scale and Scope,” was one of many given by speakers from around the world invited to share their remanufacturing experience.
This annual conference brings together industry and academic experts from the Americas, Asia, Europe and Australia to address global questions and share advancements and trends in remanufacturing.
Davies’ presentation focused on key economic and environmental benefits of remanufactured office furniture, specifically the latest methods used to accurately measure the environmental impact of remanufacturing. In addition, Davies shared the latest techniques in remanufacturing furniture enhancements to meet the needs of current office space trends. New innovations include re-indexing filing cabinets and cubicle panels, transforming them from outdated high-profile units to modern low-profile units, as well as adding mobility to workstations for ease of furniture movement and office reconfiguration.
“Remanufactured furniture saves companies tens of thousands of dollars and reduces landfill waste and carbon emissions. There are ever-increasing developments in remanufactured product and ever-expanding options in the use of remanufactured furniture in today’s workplace,” Davies said. “It was an honor to share my experience with other experts in the global remanufacturing industry.”
The 2016 World Remanufacturing Summit will be held in China.
