Vincent W. Colonno, CEO of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, recently announced the appointment of new Executive Directors of Catholic Charities local agencies. David Covey will lead the Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Agency and Sondra Young will lead the Catholic Charities Housing Agency.
Sondra Young joins us as the new Executive Director for the Catholic Charities Housing Agency. Sondra possesses a wide range of experience in the housing environment, from managing properties to working in the areas of Section 8 Housing, Affordable Housing, Public Housing, and Rural Property Development. Sondra holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from SUNY/Empire State College. Catholic Charities Housing Agency encompasses the two homeless shelters (Mercy House and Lwanga Center), the Single Room Occupancy (SRO) housing units, and affordable housing apartments that are operated by Catholic Charities throughout the Albany Diocese.
David Covey has re-joined the Catholic Charities’ team as the new Executive Director for our agency in Fulton and Montgomery Counties. David has previously served as Associate Executive Director of Catholic Charities Care Coordination Services. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and Master of Arts Degree from SUNY/Empire State College. Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties has offices in Amsterdam and Johnstown NY, and operates programs that assist the poor and vulnerable in these counties.
