Community Foundation Welcomes New Staff Member and Announces Staff Promotions

The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region is happy to welcome Deborah Ruggiero, MS, RN, MCHES® as the Vice President of Community Health Initiatives and to announce three new staff promotions.

In her role as Vice President of Community Health Initiatives, Deborah will be responsible for directing major community health grant programs and regional health program initiatives of the Community Foundation. In her previous role, at MVP Health Care, Deborah was the leader of Commercial Health Promotion. She and her team were responsible for creating worksite and community well-being programs throughout New York State and Vermont. Deborah’s previous experience also includes working for various Capital Region organizations in leadership roles in Human Resources and Health Benefits Administration. She holds a graduate degree in Health Promotion Management, is a Professional Registered Nurse and a Certified Health Education Specialist. In addition, Deborah is a proud graduate of the Capital Region Chamber’s 2017 Leadership Tech Valley program.

In addition, the Community Foundation is excited to announce three staff promotions.

  • Terry Mariano has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Terry provides executive leadership, vision, and strategic oversight for the Foundation’s finances. Under the guidance of the Finance Committee, he implements our investment policy and asset allocation, and works with the Audit Committee to ensure financial compliance.
  • Jenna Cuilla has been promoted to Senior Philanthropic Officer. Jenna has been with the Community Foundation for nearly 10 years. Jenna serves on the Development team by providing philanthropic services to donors as well as managing the Foundation’s scholarship program.
  • Melisa Logan has been promoted to Office Manager. Melisa provides administrative support to all Foundation staff, maintains office operations and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the FIMS database, including data input and output.
