WHY: Celebration of Philanthropy honorees are among the greater Capital Region’s most generous, effective and committed individuals and organizations. This year’s honorees have demonstrated outstanding leadership and extraordinary commitment to preserving and enhancing the quality of life in the region and a commitment to the health and well-being of our region through their investment in the nonprofit organizations they support.
Karen and Chet Opalka, C. Jordan Vail Spirit of Philanthropy Award: Their commitment to our community is unrivaled, and they are often a nonprofit’s best megaphone. Together, they have demonstrated their commitment to the arts and education through the time they give and the financial support they provide. While fiercely independent, Karen and Chet understand that collaboration is essential to achieving results. They roll up their sleeves and work tirelessly to find creative strategies to address community needs. The Community Foundation is grateful for their partnership, and we are honored to celebrate this powerful duo.
MVP Health Care, Corporate Catalyst Award: A healthy community requires true commitment. MVP has demonstrated their commitment to the health and well-being of our region through their investment in the nonprofit organizations that support our neighbors. Their corporate values are exhibited in the projects they invest in – endeavors that drive systematic change and uplift our region.
