Commercial & Industrial Energy Efficiency Award Winners Honored by National Grid

Albany, N.Y. – National Grid is working with its commercial customers across upstate New York to help reduce energy use. This month National Grid presented special awards to the top performing Energy Solutions Partners (ESP) from across upstate New York, who delivered record levels of energy savings to National Grid customers in 2014. The partners used energy efficiency initiatives to save customers 44,000 megawatt (mWh), a 30 percent increase in savings from 2013, which at $.091 per kilowatt (kWh) will save customers $4 million per year.

“The high performing energy solutions that these firms deliver help to create more productive workplaces, a better retail setting and more comfortable buildings for customers and employees,” said Nathaniel Hancock, National Grid’s New York State channel sales manager. “These benefits, in addition to the bottom-line savings in their energy costs, help our business customers become more competitive in the marketplace and more environmentally friendly.  Plus, it’s helping the vendors that provide these solutions to our customers grow their own businesses and hire new employees.”

In the first quarter of every year, National Grid sponsors regional awards dinners to recognize the top performing ESPs in each region for the prior year.  The 2014 award recipients were recently honored in Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany.
