Groundbreaking for the new Ale House

City Squire Ale House broke ground on June 13, 2017 for their new kitchen and bar, which will offer pub fare and craft cocktails. The location was previously City Squire, which closed in 2015. The space is slated to offer both indoor and outdoor dining options, with a combined 120 table seats inside and 68 outside and will also offer a full bar on the first and second floor.

With a total investment of $1 million, the new spot will create approximately 35 jobs for the City of Schenectady. City Squire Ale House is a venture between the Isopo Family (Mario’s Restaurant of Niskayuna, Prima Pizzeria of Schenectady, and Anna’s Wood Fired Pizza Co. of Latham) and Lecce Group, LLC.

Says Upper Union Street Business Improvement District Chairman Chris Mastroianni, “The Upper Union Street Community is excited to welcome the new City Squire Ale House! We are fortunate to have experienced developers/restaurateurs at the helm of this endeavor who understand the importance of history as well as a vision for progression. The business improvement district looks forward to a new gathering place for family and friends in the neighborhood.”

City Squire Ale House is slated to open November 2017.
