City of Watervliet Expands Restaurant Seating Ability

On Friday, June 12, 2020 at 3:00pm, Mayor Charles V. Patricelli opens City of Watervliet for outdoor seating use to local restaurants.

The City of Watervliet, in order to assist businesses as they re-enter through the phased openings, has agreed to allow local businesses to utilize City Property to expand their seating areas.

Within our 1.3 square mile city, it has some of the best eateries in the Capital District, however their relatively small size has prevented some from recognizing any profit with capacity limitations as we come out from the COVID crisis. It is our hope that providing additional square footage for outside dining by using sidewalks, utilizing city owned picnic tables and providing street closures to maximize space will all assist our beloved businesses to thrive during these uncertain times.

“As excited as we are for our restaurants to begin this re-opening process, any help we as a city can provide these business owners to ensure the safety of their staff and customers while at the same time return their business operations to some sort of normalcy, it seems like it is our responsibility to help.” – Mayor Charles Patricelli
