Christine Cooley Family Health Opens in Troy

The Chamber, along with its Ambassadors, local elected officials, family and friends all joined in for the celebration of Christine Cooley Family Health.  The event took place in the brand new office opened in Troy off of Federal Street on Thursday, March 3rd.

My name is Chris Cooley and I was born & raised in the Capital District. I have long had a vision of a relaxing, therapeutic environment which provides a one-to-one experience to promote an individual’s overall health, whether acutely or chronically ill. My passion is providing relief and healing of symptoms where ever a person may be on their health journey, blending traditional, modern and alternative treatments.   I want to “turn back the clock” to be the provider who is easy to access, offering care and clear communication.

I was called to a career caring for people from early on, and in 1987 completed my Bachelors in Science with a degree in Nursing from the Sage Colleges. I continued on to be a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 1997 with a Masters of Science also from Sage. I gathered a broad array of experience as a medical surgical nurse at Samaritan Hospital for 10 years, and for the next 23 years provided direct patient care at Upstate Gastroenterology Associates in Troy with a focus on digestive and liver health.  I continue to have a professional relationship with Upstate Gastroenterology as well as Albany Gastroenterology if and when procedures such as colonoscopy and endoscopy are found to be necessary.  I have managed care for patient’s experiencing acute and chronic illnesses with a focus in gastroenterology and liver disease.  In addition to practicing medicine, I enjoy being surrounded by my wonderful family including my husband, three children, seven grandchildren(!), and when I can spare it, time in the garden.

I am so happy to be practicing in the “hot spot” of Troy and to be located at 500 Federal Street in Suite 650!  Not only is there ample off-street parking, the easy access just off 787 and Route 7 from I87 is fabulous.  It may seem like a basic consideration, but good parking was an important factor for me to consider for my patients. Thanks to Denton & Dave Bryce from Riverfront Adventures for the opportunity bring a new healthcare practice to downtown Troy. And the views from the 6th floor are quite the bonus!
