CHA’s Morgan Moldoff, PE, Named to ENR New York 2018 Top Young Professionals

CHA Consulting, Inc. (CHA) is pleased to announce Rail Engineer, Morgan Moldoff, PE, has been named to the Engineering News Record (ENR) New York 2018 Top Young Professionals.  As Rail Technical Group Leader, she is responsible for all aspects of rail design for passenger and freight railroads.

One of Morgan’s recent projects provided improvements to the Albany-Rensselaer track and station, the 9th busiest Amtrak station in the U.S., and construction of a second main track from Albany to Schenectady, a project with a $141 million construction value.  Her work eliminated nearly all station delays attributed to track capacity and provided a vital second main track dedicated for Amtrak.   This project is a 2018 ACEC NY Engineering Excellence Gold Award recipient. Morgan also mentors junior engineers and dedicates hundreds of hours annually to the Capital District Future City® Competition, a hands-on, real-world learning experience for middle school students to learn how engineers shape the world we live in.

“Morgan is truly deserving of this recognition which solidifies her position as one of the nation’s young leaders in rail engineering,” said Lee Ecker, Sr. Vice President, CHA’s Transportation Group. “She is an inspiration to young women pursuing engineering careers and is very deserving of recognition for her professionalism and innovative approaches to improving rail travel.”

ENR invites nominations of deserving, up-and-coming leaders working in the construction and design industries for their Top Young Professionals award.  Judging is based on industry experience, education, leadership skills and community service. This year, ENR New York received nearly 100 entries, from which 20 winners were chosen. The Top Young Professionals will be profiled in the January 2018 issue of ENR New York.
