July 12, 2018Charles Kortz, P.E. Elected to Board of Directors and Director of Engineering
C.T. Male Associates Engineering, Surveying, Architecture, Landscape Architecture & Geology, D.P.C. (C.T. Male) has elected Charles “Chad” R. Kortz, P.E. to the Board of Directors. He has also been chosen as Director of Engineering following the retirement of Chief Engineer Edwin L. Vopelak, Jr., P.E.
Mr. Kortz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Additionally, he is affiliated with the American Water Works Association, New York Water Environment Association, American Public Works Association, and NYS Association of Solid Waste Managers. He brings over 20 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering, public works operations and administration, and construction to his new position.
Mr. Kortz has extensive leadership experience including: managing multi-disciplined project teams for the Civil Engineering Division, serving as the Team Leader for drinking water supply, treatment, and distribution projects while performing project management and quality reviews, and is C.T. Male’s Managing Engineer and Regional Office Manager for our branch office located in Johnstown, New York.
By assuming the role of Director of Engineering, Mr. Kortz’s responsibilities will include, formulating and administering company policies, developing long range goals and objectives related to the firm’s quality management program, chairing the Board Committee on Quality and Professional Development, and assisting and supporting Division Managers in pursuit of continuous quality improvement. Mr. Kortz’s extensive professional and leadership expertise is a valuable addition to the Board of Directors and in his role as Director of Engineering.
