Chamber’s Pete Bardunias Wins Agricultural Award

The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, an affiliate of the Capital Region Chamber, congratulates Senior Vice President, Community Advancement Pete Bardunias on being recognized as the 2024 Agricultural Promoter of the Year.

This year marks the award’s return after weather-impacted farms followed by Covid-19 meant the annual Sunday on the Farm event, during which the Agricultural Promoter of the Year award had been presented, couldn’t be held. Saratoga County Fair Board of Directors member and Willow-Marsh Farm co-owner Charles Curtiss first approached fellow Board members last year to bring the award back, with Bardunias first in his mind to be the 2024 honoree. “Pete is very deserving and I’m glad we were given the chance to award him,” says Curtiss.

The Chamber is proud that so many farms call our area home, allowing families to experience local produce, meat and dairy, and we are grateful for their contributions to our community. The Agricultural Promoter of the Year award, says Curtiss, helps to bring attention to those farms and enlighten the public on the importance that agriculture has on their daily lives.

Moving forward, the plan is to present the award annually on opening day of the Saratoga County Fair.
