The Chamber of Schenectady County Announces 29th Annual Business Award Honorees

The Chamber of Schenectady County will honor the following businesses and individuals at its 29th Annual Business Awards on Wednesday, October 18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia.

The Rising Star Award, presented to a business in operation for three years or less that has demonstrated commitment to the community and exhibits potential for long-term success, goes to Clynk, a bottle and can redemption company based in Scotia.

Enterprise of the Year is being awarded to Schenectady Hardware & Electric, as they have distinguished themselves through strong management and sustained growth in various markets.

The Business Innovation Award goes to Via Aquarium. Located in Viaport mall in Rotterdam, the aquarium has brought new life to the mall, creating a unique destination that attracts visitors from throughout the Greater Capital Region.

DSM (Fortitech) will be presented Corporation of the Year. This Award recognizes a business for outstanding performance, strong employment base and contribution to the economic well-being of the community.

Rivers Casino and Resort is being recognized for Community Impact. Rivers Casino has created more than 1,000 jobs, grown the tax base and attracts visitors from a wide geographic area to Mohawk Harbor.

The Business Leader Award will be presented posthumously to Chuck Steiner. The Chamber recognizes its longtime president for his lasting impact on the business community and quality of life in Schenectady County.
