CEG & TechConnex to present 4th Techapalooza

The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) and its affiliate, TechConnex, present Techapalooza, in its fourth year, on November 18 at the New York State Museum in Albany, NY.  Techapalooza provides software enthusiasts with an opportunity to network, explore and engage with new, innovative technologies and the companies who have developed them.

Event registration begins at 5 p.m., and networking and technology related demos will follow until 9 p.m.

“We have a vision of making the Capital Region one of the most prosperous and innovative ecosystems in the world and now we have a comprehensive Capital 20.20 plan that gives us the blue print for how to make it happen. Now we find ourselves staring opportunity right in the face. Techapalooza is back and is coming at a great time for us to celebrate success and work towards an even better tomorrow,” said Interim President and CEO of the Center for Economic Growth, Michael Hickey, who will attend the event.

More than 30 organizations have come together to support Techapalooza as either a sponsor, or in a showcase capacity. Auto/Mate Dealership Systems is the event’s Platinum sponsor.

“Auto/Mate realizes that Techapalooza is a great place to foster collaboration among local software engineers. We work very hard to make Auto/Mate a top workplace for our Software Development Team, and want to support other talented individuals in the area as they continue to create innovative software solutions with modern technologies,” said Shylah Weber, Software Development Manager at Auto/Mate Dealership Systems. Ms. Weber leads a team of software engineers and web developers to develop an innovative and feature rich suite of enterprise software applications that manage car dealership business operations, and will also welcome attendees at the event.

The following Tech Valley companies are all participating Gold sponsors: Autotask, Capital Tech Search, Commerce Hub and Linium. National partner AT&T is also a returning Gold sponsor this year.

“AT&T is pleased to be a part of Techapalooza and salutes the developers, academics and start-ups companies that contribute to a re-invigorated spirit of innovation in the Tech Valley of New York State,” said Marissa Shorenstein, President of AT&T New York.

The event will include a variety of showcases, highlighting companies who have made significant advances in technology or who possess innovative technology. Attendees will be able to engage in virtual reality experiences, witness drones up close and personal, and experience an immersive gaming area.

Attendance is expected to exceed 250 and the event is open to the public. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged and tickets are $20/person. Students are free, but are also encouraged to pre-register.

Giving back to our community through the means of technology is also an important factor of this event. If you bring used cell phones and chargers, they will be donated to Northeast Health’s Crime Victims Assistance Program at Samaritan Hospital.
