The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced the recent appointment of Frederick C. Gilliam to head its Transportation Department.
“After a nation-wide search we are excited to welcome Fred into the fold to help us continue our vision for success,” said CDTA Chairman David M. Stackrow. “He has the background and managerial qualities we need to continue providing top-notch service to our customers in support of our mission.”
In his current role as Director of Transportation, he oversees all functions of the department, including bus operations, supervision and support activities with a strong emphasis on customer service. Before joining CDTA, Mr. Gilliam was the Director of Road & Bus Terminal Operations for New Jersey Transit, where he held numerous roles with increasing responsibility over his 25 years in the transit industry.
Mr. Gilliam holds a Bachelor degree from Rutgers University and resides in Saratoga Springs with his wife. They have three children.
