CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge Raises More than $31,000 for Local Charity

The CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge returned to downtown Albany in late May 2022 and subsequently raised more than $31,000 for local not-for-profit Oakwood Community Center, located in Troy, NY.

“Year after year, and especially following a global pandemic, I continue to be amazed at the generosity of CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge race participants and corporate sponsors,” said Brian O’Grady, CDPHP President of Health Plan Markets. “To raise more than $31,000 for Oakwood Community Center this year is truly remarkable, and I sincerely thank everyone for their contributions.”

Oakwood Community Center will use race proceeds to support their Oakwood Techniques program, which exposes local students to a variety of genres/styles of dance, music, and theatre to lay a foundation for a lifelong love of the arts, as well as a solid understanding of how the performing arts can be used as a form of self-expression. “We are so honored to have been chosen as the 2022 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge Charity of Choice,” said Shanna Goldman, Director of Oakwood Community Center. “With this support, even more children will be able to participate in the Oakwood Techniques program, which will undoubtedly help instill an early love of the arts and teach healthy forms of self-expression.” The CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge is organized by and serves as an important fundraiser for the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC). In addition to raising funds for local charities, the
race also helps to fund HMRRC’s college scholarships, grants, and free running programs.
