CDPHP Gives to Capital Campaign

The “Caring for Those who Cared for Us” Capital Campaign continues to receive community support as CDPHP (Capital District Physicians Health Plan) contributes $25,000 to help costs with planning, development, and construction of the King Thiel Senior Community, Colonie Senior Service Centers’ new 96-unit affordable independent senior apartment community in Latham, New York.

CDPHP is a longtime supporter of the programs and services offered by Colonie Senior Service Centers. The two organizations work together to provide quality programming in the areas of health, wellness, and fitness for the seniors in Colonie, specifically lending support toward the Senior Fit program.  This contribution toward the Capital Campaign reflects how deeply CDPHP, and its CEO Dr. John Bennett care for the seniors in the community.

“CDPHP has been a great friend to our organization for many, many years now.  Dr. Bennett is a member of our Board of Directors and lends many great ideas and shows support at many of our corporate events and now of course the ‘Caring for Those who Cared for Us’ Capital Campaign,” said Ed Neary. “We are grateful to have both of these parties to support this new project.”

Dr. Bennett is a CSSC Board Member and more recently took on the role as the Chair of the “Caring for Those who Cared for Us” Capital Campaign, dedicating not only his company to the cause, but also much of his personal time and effort.

“Colonie Senior Service Centers and CDPHP have had a long-standing partnership, which has been built upon the shared mission of improving and sustaining the health and well-being of the seniors in our community,” said John D. Bennett, MD, president and CEO, CDPHP. “My personal support, as well as support from CDPHP, for the new King Thiel Senior Community is the next step in our commitment to helping local seniors live long, independent, and healthy lives.”

CSSC is an independent, community based not-for-profit organization serving the largest population of seniors in the Capital Region.
