Cato Studios & Events celebrated its grand opening at 24 Aviation Road in Albany, marking the arrival of a dynamic new space for creativity and community gatherings. Founder Leo Cato spoke about the vision behind the studio, inspired by a successful project he launched in Lithuania eight years ago. “I truly believe what I’ve created here is the picture-perfect example of what I really wanted,” Cato said, noting the studio has already seen strong early success, particularly with its popular weekly Latin nights. He also expressed gratitude to his dedicated team, family, and supporters.
Jason Benitez, Vice President of Inclusion for the Capital Region Chamber, emceed the ceremony and highlighted the studio as a “multi-purpose” venue designed to support everything from dance and fitness classes to events, photography, and creative production. He noted the space offers a unique outlet for residents to “live, work, and play,” while bringing fresh energy to the region’s growing creative economy.
Rick Field, Deputy Supervisor for the Town of Colonie, shared congratulations on behalf of Supervisor Peter Crummey. Adding a lighthearted touch, Field recounted dancing to “Free Bird” with his granddaughter to “stay in shape,” calling the new business “fabulous” and applauding its location.
