Captain Community Human Services Open House and Ribbon-Cutting at New Gloversville Location

CAPTAIN Community Human Services (CAPTAIN CHS) hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 28, 2026 to celebrate the organization’s new Gloversville location at 11 1st Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078. The ribbon-cutting was conducted by the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The building, which was purchased last year, has been renovated to bring CAPTAIN CHS’ Street Outreach and Housing/Crisis Services under one roof. The new, centrally located facility aims to better serve the needs of individuals and families throughout the region. “Our programs in Fulton and Montgomery Counties have grown significantly over the past couple of years, and we expect them to continue to increase in size and scope,” says Scott DeMarco, CAPTAIN CHS Executive Director.

This location will allow the Street Outreach Program and Housing/Crisis Programs (such as the Rapid Rehousing, Solutions to End Homelessness, Family-Centered Case Management, and Social Support Navigation (1115 Waiver) programs) to better support trafficked youth, homeless individuals, and families in need. Combined, these programs allow individuals to secure and maintain permanent housing, access supportive services, stabilize their households, and move beyond their current circumstances.

While the nature of these programs requires many staff members to work directly in the community and meet individuals where they are, the new Gloversville location provides regular office and program hours where community members and individuals in need can come in to receive support.
