Capital Volvo Cars of Albany Officially Opens

The Chamber was delighted to take part in a ceremonial ribbon cutting for the all-new Capital Volvo Cars of Albany dealership facility on Friday, September 24. They were joined by Volvo Car USA President & CEO Anders Gustafsson, Capital Luxury Cars and Friendly Auto Group President and CEO Eric Kahn, Colonie Mayor Tom Tobin, and LeChase Construction Services.

Construction of the state of the art, 19,261 sq. ft. Volvo dealership was recently completed on property acquired at 350 New Karner Road. Aligning with Volvo’s leadership position in electrification and sustainability, the dealership includes eight electric charging stations with the infrastructure to add more.

The 19,261 sq. ft. state-of-the-art Volvo dealership facility, which includes a five-vehicle showroom, fifteen-bay shop, and eight electric charging stations is now located on approximately 4.3 acres across the street from the 2.5-acre site it currently shares with the Jaguar and Land Rover franchises. “We (Volvo) applaud our retailers that invest in our beautiful brand and join us on our transformational journey. Congratulations to the entire team at Capital Volvo Cars of Albany on their investment in our collective future in one of our most important markets,” Gustafsson said.

“Similar to when Volvo took a leadership role in safety years ago, Volvo is taking a leadership position in electrification and sustainability through Volvo Recharge, a full line of hybrid or electric offerings,” Kahn said. “So now consumers can experience luxury recharge technology and get the excellent ownership experience offered by the Volvo dealership network.”

LeChase is the construction manager on the project based on designs by Cotler Architecture and Hershberg and Hershberg site engineers.

All ribbon cuttings are sponsored by Saratoga National Bank and Trust Company.
