Capital Region Gives, the Big $100,000 Giveaway returns in November

On November 16, the Times Union will once again publish the popular special section on philanthropy, Capital Region Gives. In this edition we will focus on “Our Welcoming Community.” We will explore the many ways we, as a community, welcome people to the Capital Region.

We are a diverse and inclusive population. Included in our community are international students and workers, immigrants, returning veterans and people with special needs. This edition will feature the many programs that are offered to help people integrate.

A very special feature of Capital Region Gives is The Big $100,000 Giveaway. The Times Union will again host a contest for 10 nonprofits to each win a $10,000 advertising grant for 2018.

Below are the links to the information sessions to learn more. Note that there is one group of sessions for businesses and another for nonprofits.

Contest winners from 2016 were Equine Advocates, Colonie Senior Services, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Albany Institute of History and Art, Whiskers Animal Benevolent League, Trinity Alliance, Capital District YMCA, Capital Roots, the Food Pantries for the Capital District and Catholic Charities.
