Capital Region Chamber Seeks Membership Executive

The Capital Region Chamber, the area’s largest region-wide business advocacy organization representing 2,400 organizations that employ 150,000 residents, is seeking to add a Membership Executive to our team. The Chamber provides leadership and resources to grow member businesses, our regional economy, and serves as an advocate for business and community priorities.

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for selling Chamber memberships to prospective non-member businesses by communicating the mission and benefits of the Chamber. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Membership.

Job Title: Membership Executive
Compensation: Base salary plus commission, bonus potential, healthcare benefits, 401K, mileage, cell phone allowance

Position Responsibilities:
· Proactively schedule appointments with prospects to acquire new membership investors
· Achieve budget revenue goals
· Comfortable with working out and around the Capital Region, with occasional time in the office
· Remains informed of advocacy efforts, member benefits, Chamber events, etc.
· Actively support and participate in Chamber events and programs
· Attends regular sales/staff meetings, occasionally work check-in, set-up, etc. at Chamber events/programs
· Other duties as assigned by Vice-President, Membership

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills, detail oriented
· Self-motivated with a passion for business and impacting community
· Must have previous sales experience, cold-calling and closing skills
· Excellent relationship builder
· Strong verbal and written skills, comfortable speaking with key business executives and business owners
· Works well with deadlines and established goals
· Strategic at prospecting and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospects
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
· Works well independently as well as part of a larger team and with volunteers, outgoing personality
· Flexible schedule, availability to occasionally attend before and after hour meetings and events, no weekends

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Prior sales experience required

Additional Requirements
· A valid NYS driver’s license and car
· A satisfactory background check
