CAP COM Opens 11th Branch

CAP COM Federal Credit Union has opened its 11th branch at 899 Western Avenue, Albany. The 3,300-square-foot branch is conveniently located close to the State Office Campus and the University at Albany (SUNY).

“Brick and mortar is still a large part of CAP COM’s business, even as more members are using our digital and mobile platforms,” said President/CEO Paula Stopera.

“CAP COM is proud to open its newest location,” added Robert Roemer, Vice President of Innovation and Project Management. “We appreciate the support the city and our professional partners contributed to its opening. We are excited about our ability to provide greater convenience to our existing members located near the new location, as well as the prospect of welcoming new consumers and businesses to the CAP COM family.”

The Western Ave branch will feature five private representative offices, two teller pods, a children’s play area, free coffee, a free coin machine for members, a photo copier, guest Wi-Fi, and a state-of-the-art ATM. The ATM will feature the latest technology and anti-skimming security along with 24/7 deposit automation of both cash and checks.

CAP COM partnered with BBL Construction Services as well as WCGS for their architectural design. The site engineers brought on for the project were Hershberg & Hershberg. CAP COM has additional branches in Albany (CAP COM Financial Center), Brunswick, Clifton Park, Cohoes, Colonie, Glenmont, Latham, Malta, Niskayuna, and North Greenbush.

The CAP COM team will be participating in local acts of kindness and community service during opening week, including surprise visits to CAP COM Cares Foundation partners, local nonprofits, neighboring businesses and schools. Opening week activities for the public include:

Friday, May 4th 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Free coffee compliments of CAP COM at Uncommon Grounds

Friday, May 4th 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Complimentary ice cream at the new branch

New and current members are encouraged to stop by both events.
