CAP COM, Hannaford and Verizon Partner to Provide 300 Thanksgiving Meals to Families in Need

CAP COM Federal Credit Union and its charitable giving arm, the CAP COM Cares Foundation, will partner with Hannaford Supermarkets and Verizon to assemble and deliver 300 Thanksgiving baskets for Capital Region families in need this holiday season.

The CAP COM Cares Foundation has organized the basket delivery for the past 12 years. In that time the Foundation has delivered more than 2,100 meals with all of the fixings of a traditional nutritious holiday meal.

Volunteers will assemble and deliver meals to organizations including the Commission on Economic Opportunity, Cohoes Mayor’s Office, Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County, Marillac Family Shelter, Ronald McDonald House, St. Catherine’s Group and Prevention Homes, St. Paul’s Center, Visiting Nurses Association, Watervliet Head Start, YWCA of the Greater Capital Region and twelve local elementary schools in Albany, Cohoes and Troy.

“We are grateful to have Hannaford Supermarkets and Verizon to partner with us to find a way to help when it matters most. Together we can build a stronger foundation for our future,” said CAP COM President/CEO Paula A. Stopera.
