December 4, 2018CAP COM Announces Adopted Nonprofit for Siena Men’s Basketball 2018-2019 Season
CAP COM Federal Credit Union and the CAP COM Cares Foundation will be partnering with Siena Men’s Basketball to “adopt” the Bus Stop Club for the 2018-2019 season. This is the second year that the credit union has selected a nonprofit to join in partnership.
To show the credit unions community partnership, CAP COM and Siena will work together to benefit the Bus Stop Club, an organization that supports siblings of special needs kids. The program allows for primary consideration of the well child in the comprehensive care of chronically-ill children. The mission of the Bus Stop Club is to provide sibling support and family memories through encouragement and support for the siblings of children with critical illness or developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities. The goal is to provide free emotional and recreational support in a fun and safe environment.
Nearly 100 Bus Stop Club fans and their families will attend the Siena Saints game on Saturday vs. Harvard at 3 p.m. A presentation at halftime will be focused on the Bus Stop Club and include their founder and president, Dr. Brian Sheridan as well as CAP COM Executive Vice President, Chris McKenna.
The partnership will include VIP meet and greets with the Siena Men’s Basketball Team as well as a clinic for the Bus Stop Club kids. CAP COM will also be awarding 6 athletic scholarships for the Bus Stop Club kids to attend a week-long camp session at Siena College this summer. To give back to the Bus Stop Club a text to donate option has been established. Supporters can text BSC to 41444 to make a donation.
