CAP COM Adds Property and Casualty Insurance Division

CAP COM Federal Credit Union has unveiled a new division of products to help members save money.

“Our members were asking for more options and better pricing on auto and homeowners insurance,” said President/CEO Paula Stopera. “The addition of our CAP COM Insurance Services division adds even more depth to the one-stop shopping experience we can offer members when it comes to their financial needs.”

CAP COM has partnered with Southwest Business Corporation (SWBC) to provide the ability to shop among top-rated carriers for the best price on a custom policy. More than 1,100 people have requested quotes since the division opened earlier this summer.

“The response has been overwhelming,” Stopera said. “People want to do the research needed to make sure they have the best insurance protection for their money – and they want a more convenient way to gather that information.”

Along with auto and homeowners insurance, CAP COM can offer quotes for business owners, renters, students traveling aboard, pet owners and more. A dedicated phone line is available with call center support Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The credit union’s branch network has tripled in size over the past decade. Last year CAP COM opened a state-of-the art headquarters off Wolf Road in Albany. The CAP COM Financial Center houses all of CAP COM’s divisions including CAP COM Financial Services, Homeowners Advantage mortgage division, Car Buyers Helpline, Educational Initiatives and School Banking, College Bound and the credit union’s CAP COM Cares Foundation.

The second largest credit union in the Capital Region recently joined the CO-OP Shared Branch Network, allowing members access to more than 5,000 participating credit unions across the nation. CAP COM will break ground on its tenth branch in Malta in this fall.
