Call to Action: Stop Prevailing Wage Expansion

Join the Chamber’s fight against another costly mandate, the prevailing wage expansion bill. The Chamber successfully kept this costly proposal out of budget negotiations. However, now the NYS Legislature is currently considering this proposal which would dramatically expand the number of construction projects subject to prevailing wage mandates. This would increase the cost of construction projects up to 25% within the state and increase the burden on our taxpayers. With this added cost, fewer projects will be built, economic development will undoubtedly suffer and there will be fewer jobs for New Yorkers. Instead of adopting this costly mandate, the state should be encouraging public-private partnerships to ensure New York remains competitive and attractive for future growth. Take action by quickly sending a message to your elected officials in Albany. Because of you our voice is strong at the Capitol.
