Buyer and Cellar featuring Mark Stevens, a Special Production at Schenectady Civic Players

Buyer and Cellar by Jonathan Tolins, a one-man show featuring Mark Stephens and directed by Cristine M. Loffredo, will be presented Friday, June 8, at Schenectady Civic Players’ 12 South Church Street Playhouse in Schenectady’s historic Stockade district.  Proceeds of the one night only special production benefit Civic Players’ Centennial Campaign.

Buyer & Cellar is an outrageous comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things, and the oddest of jobs. Alex More (Mark Stephens) has a story to tell. A struggling actor in L.A., he takes a job working in the Malibu basement of a beloved megastar. One day, the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like real bonding in the basement, but will their relationship ever make it upstairs?

The production, first of Civic Players’ new summer events in its now fully air conditioned theater,  will be performed on the main stage at 8 pm, preceded at 7 pm by a wine and hors  d’oeuvres  reception in the Players’ Green Room.

Tickets are $25 and can be reserved by calling Schenectady Civic Players. 518-382-2081 (press Option 6.)  Or by cash, check or credit card at the door.  Or online at www.civicplayers.org .
