Ballston Spa National Bank recently welcomed the arrival of two student interns at their Corporate Offices in Ballston Spa.
Lyndsy Hatfield of Moravia, NY will be interning with the credit department. Hatfield, a senior at The College of Saint Rose, plans to graduate in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in financial planning. Following graduation, she is looking to take the Certified Financial Planner Certification Examination. Hatfield will spend her time at BSNB completing financial statement analyses, performing vendor analyses, preparing annual reviews, and participating in loan requests and joint customer site visits.
Marjorie Duffel of Kings Park, NY will be interning with the marketing department. Going into her senior year at the University at Albany, Duffel plans to graduate in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with concentrations in marketing and management. She plans to prepare for the GMAT to obtain her MBA. During her time at BSNB, Duffel will complete market research, draft social media and website content, create digital signage and assist with BSNB events, sponsorships and promotions.
The year-round paid internship program has been active at BSNB since 2013. Positions are open to undergraduate students entering their junior or senior year, and are pursuing degrees in marketing, business or finance. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The interns are responsible for a wide variety of tasks and are expected to work up to 16 hours a week during the school semester and full-time during breaks and over summer vacation.
