BSNB Gives More Than $20,000 in Employee-nominated Donations

To cap off a year in which its employees volunteered more than 9,000 hours, Ballston Spa National Bank recently distributed more than $20,000 to various organizations across the region based on nominations from BSNB staff members.

“At BSNB, we believe that actions and not just words define who we are as a company,” said President and CEO Chris Dowd. “Along with the tremendous number of hours our employees have volunteered, BSNB has provided additional funding throughout 2015 to more than 130 organizations. I would like to thank these valuable organizations and our amazing staff for helping to support and strengthen the communities where we live and work.”

The groups chosen to receive the employee-nominated donations include, but are not limited to:

  • Capital District YMCA STE(a)M Program – A 20-week after-school program focusing on science, technology, engineering, arts and math for students in second through fifth grade.
  • Ballston Spa Area Community Center – Provides essential community services, programs, support and projects that enhance the social, emotional and recreational development of the youth and families in the Ballston area.
  • Double H Ranch – Provider of free specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses.
  • Gateway House of Peace – Non-profit residence dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, caring place for terminally ill patients in need of a home during their final days.
  • Kids Reaching Out Club (R.O.C.) – Organization that coordinates projects to help brighten the lives of others through good deeds and acts of kindness.
  • Newmeadow School – School that looks to transform the lives of children, including those with autism and other special needs, and prepare them for learning and life.
  • Northeast Kidney Foundation/ William Cromie Children’s Dialysis Fund – Voluntary health organization dedicated to preventing kidney disease and enhancing the lives of all those who are affected by it.
  • Rebuilding Together Saratoga County – Brings volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of homeowners in need across Saratoga County.
  • Salvation Army Saratoga Springs – Local chapter of an international charity working to feed, clothe, comfort and care for those in need.
  • Saratoga County Rural Preservation Company – Offers housing and employment services to veterans and their families in Saratoga County.
  • Schenectady City Mission – Non-denominational ministry dedicated to serving the poor and homeless, helping them get out of poverty and stay out of poverty for the rest of their lives.
  • Stillwater Area Community Center – Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the surrounding community.
  • Wellspring – Supports victims of domestic violence and sexual assault across Saratoga County.
