Broadview Federal Credit Union Ends 2022 with $500,000 in Donations to Fight Hunger and Food Insecurity Across the State

Broadview Federal Credit Union closes out 2022 with a continued focus on supporting the community. Broadview donated more than $500,000 to fight hunger and food insecurity throughout the Capital Region, Binghamton, Syracuse, and Buffalo.

The half-million-dollar donation focuses on addressing the immediate and increasing need for food while also helping local nonprofits.

The $500,000 donation includes short-term financial investments to help 51 food banks and pantries across Broadview’s geographic footprint stock their shelves. It also includes the purchase of a robust, new Freight Farm for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY. This will be the fourth hydroponic farm in the Broadview-financed fleet. Like the others, the new Freight Farm will allow the Regional Food Bank to grow fresh, organic produce year-round safely and easily.

This donation also continues to celebrate the merger that created Broadview. It marks the one-year anniversary of CAP COM and SEFCU’s first joint donation to local food pantries and food banks. Last year the organizations donated $350K through their “Giving Together” initiative.
