April 7, 2020Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area Serves over 22,000 Meals to Families in Albany & Rensselaer County
Starting on Friday, April 3rd, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA) will expand their meal delivery service and begin providing families with an extra breakfast and lunch for the weekend. Serving over 22,000 meals in the Capital Region since the program began on March 18th, BGCCA’s food service continues to grow with community demand and has gone from serving 800 meals daily to 2,000 meals. In addition, BGCCA has partnered with local agencies to provide families with 2020 census information
alongside their meals.
Serving both youth and families, meals continue to be delivered through mobile delivery sites.
These meals are available for pick up at 11 Albany & Troy housing complexes locations from
11:30am to 12:30pm.
While resources have been secured to feed youth up to 18 years old, serving families requires
additional financial support. As a result, BGCCA is asking the community for support through a

All funds collected will be used for the following:
1) To provide breakfast and lunch for children and families in need.
2) To meet additional needs of youth, families and individuals within the Capital Area.
To help distribute the meals, BGCCA is seeking 2-3 volunteers per site. If community members
